The KC-135R Stratotanker, the military version of the Boeing 707, is the backbone of the USAF tanker fleet. The KC-135R is designed to operate at gross weights of up to 322,000 lbs. and is powered by four CFM F108-CF-100 high by-pass turbofan engines, each producing 22,224 lbs. of thrust. The PACER CRAG-modified KC-135 upgrades include a FMS-800 Flight Management System, FDS 255 flight displays, color weather radar, and integrated INS/GPS. A Boom to Drogue Adapter (BDA) enhances interoperability and support to Navy, NATO, and other Allied aircraft. The KC-135 can be fitted with an A/M 135 cargo roller system, capable of transporting up to six 436L pallets with a total load capacity of 36,000 lbs.
