The 185th Air Refueling Wing is located in America’s heartland at the Sioux Gateway Airport/Brigadier General Bud Day Field in Sioux City, Iowa flying the KC-135R Stratotanker, the military version of the Boeing 707, is the backbone of the USAF tanker fleet. The KC-135R is designed to operate at gross weights up to 322,500 lbs., deliver over 200,000 lbs. of fuel.
