In July 2007, the squadron was reactivated as the “434th Fighter Training Squadron”, 47th Operations Group, Laughlin AFB, TX. In August 2012 the 434th was redesignated the 434th Flying Training Squadron training the world’s best pilots. The 434th stands ready to train tomorrow’s aviators and Air Force leaders. Honors awarded include one Distinguished Unit Citation, three Air Force Outstanding Unit Awards, French Croix de Guerre with Palm, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm and seven Campaign Streamers.
