The T-6A Texan II is a single-engine, turboprop trainer manufactured by Raytheon. The T-6A is used for training student pilots, navigators and naval flight officers in the fundamentals of aircraft handling and instrument, navigation, aerobatics, formation and night flying. The T-6A is powered by a Pratt & Whitney PTA-68 turboprop, which produces 1,100 shp. With a service ceiling of 31,000 feet and a maximum speed of 368 mph, the T-6A has a range of 920 miles. The normal crew is two pilots, one instructor and one student.
